Privacy Policy
DicDoc is committed to protecting user privacy and enabling anonymous access to sexual health screening tools. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the DicDoc website and services.
1. Who we are
DicDoc is an online informational website that provides access to an anonymous AI-powered genital symptom checker, powered by iDoc24 inc (iDoc24).
DicDoc operates solely as a brand interface and informational website. Diagnostic image analysis is performed by iDoc24 using their proprietary engine.
iDoc24 acts as a separate service provider and processes data in accordance with its own privacy policy which can be found at https://www.firstderm.com/privacy-policy/
Geographic scope: DicDoc is designed primarily for users based in the United Kingdom. Information, signposting, and support references are UK-focused. Users accessing the service from outside the UK should be aware that healthcare pathways, services, and guidance may differ in other countries.
DicDoc is not an NHS service. It is an independent, privately operated service that has been designed to align with recognised NHS digital governance and clinical safety principles.
2. Our approach to privacy
DicDoc is designed to be used anonymously.
- We do not require users to create an account
- We do not collect names, email addresses, or contact details
- We do not store images or diagnostic results
- We do not link payment information to uploaded images or results
DicDoc is designed so that no personal data is processed by default. Where no personal data is processed, UK GDPR does not apply.
3. Information we do not collect
DicDoc does not collect, store, or retain:
- Uploaded images
- Image metadata (EXIF data, device information, location data)
- Diagnostic results
- Health data
- Email addresses or contact details
- User accounts or profiles
Once a result is displayed to the user, it is not retained by DicDoc. Users are advised to take a screenshot if they wish to keep a copy, as we do not store or resend results.
4. How image analysis works
When a user chooses to use the genital symptom checker:
- The image is submitted anonymously via a secure connection to iDoc24
- The image is analysed in real time by the iDoc24 engine
- Five possible outcome categories relating to potential symptomatic STI conditions are displayed
Images are processed without identifiers and are not linked to an individual. As such, DicDoc does not process identifiable special category health data.
Neither DicDoc nor iDoc24 retains the image after analysis.
5. Payments and Stripe
Payments for use of the checker are processed securely via Stripe, a third-party payment provider.
- DicDoc does not receive or store credit card details
- Stripe processes payment information independently
- Payment data is not linked to uploaded images, diagnostic results, or health information
- Payment processing is entirely separate from image analysis and does not involve the sharing of health-related information
Stripe acts as an independent data controller for payment information. You can view Stripe’s privacy policy at https://stripe.com/privacy
6. Cookies and tracking
DicDoc aims to minimise the use of cookies.
- We do not use cookies to identify users
- We do not use cookies to track health activity or diagnostic usage
- No marketing or advertising cookies are used on the symptom checker journey
Any analytics used are privacy-focused and anonymised, with IP addresses masked and no user profiling.
You can access our Cookie Policy at
7. Third-party services
DicDoc uses the following third-party services:
- iDoc24 – image analysis only
- Stripe – payment processing only
Each provider processes data in accordance with their own privacy policies and applicable data protection laws.
8. Clinical safety notice
DicDoc provides informational outputs only and does not provide a medical diagnosis.
Results are intended to support users in deciding whether to seek appropriate clinical care. Users are advised to seek care from a qualified healthcare professional for diagnosis, treatment, or if symptoms persist or worsen.
9. Data retention
DicDoc does not retain:
- Images
- Results
- Health information
- User identifiers
All processing is transient and data is discarded immediately after use.
10. Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA)
DicDoc has completed a proportionate Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA-lite) in line with UK GDPR guidance and recognised NHS digital governance principles.
As DicDoc does not process identifiable personal data by default, a full DPIA is not required at this time. The DPIA-lite is reviewed periodically and is available on request.
